Program Activities

Staff will show respect for children and interact with them in caring ways.

24 Months to Preschool

At Our Little Treasures Academy, we understand the unique learning and developmental needs of children aged 24 months and up. Our “24 Months to Preschool” program is designed to nurture and stimulate young minds in a safe and engaging environment.

Focusing on early childhood milestones, we offer activities that promote cognitive development and physical coordination. We lay the groundwork for your child’s journey toward more structured learning. Our dedicated staff fosters a nurturing atmosphere where toddlers can grow, explore, and build the confidence they need as they transition to preschool.

Preschool

For preschoolers, we focus on pre-reading and pre-math skills. A few examples are sorting, patterning, color awareness, calendar activities, classification, estimating, number and letter recognition and naming, rhyming, picture naming, alliteration, and letter sounds.

In our weekly lesson plans, we also include art (fine motor), outdoor/gym time (large motor), stories and reading, songs, sand and water play (sensory), food projects, creative movement, imitating, and pretending. The staff promotes socialization skills by concentrating on manners, privacy rules, non-violent conflict resolution, empathizing, sharing, imagining, and communication skills.

School Age

Our Little Treasures Preschool Academy has a School Age Program designed for children 5 to 8 years old who attend a public or private school. These children are picked up or dropped off at the Center by their school bus at the beginning and/or end of the school day. In the morning, breakfast is served between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. A staff member waits with all children until they are picked up by their school bus.

In the afternoon, a nutritious snack is served to children as they arrive from school. A quiet area is provided for reading and completion of any required homework. The school-agers also engage in various free choice activities designed to enhance socialization skills such as arts and crafts, group games, science activities, and dramatic play.

Every Friday afternoon is “movie day”, and the group is treated to popcorn and a movie at the Center. On school holidays and vacations, the School Age program provides full daycare which includes meals, snacks, and the above-mentioned activities. On full days, this group has a rest time after lunch.

Summer Program

Our Little Treasures Preschool Academy also operates a Summer Program for children 5 to 8 years old.

Weekly field trips, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and sports are some of the activities planned for the children. Breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack are provided. The hours of the Summer Program are 6:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
